I live outside the U.S. Can I apply?
Unfortunately, no. We only accept U.S.-based VAs. Entrepreneurs want U.S. time zones, work culture, and communication styles.
Do I need prior VA experience to apply?
Yes, at least one year of experience as a VA or EA is required. You’ll then be placed in the tier that matches your experience level.
What industries or skills do I need to have?
myVAmatch works with entrepreneurs across many industries. Virtual assistants are generally expected to be strong generalists in admin and research-type tasks, with the flexibility to support a variety of needs. Your specific experience is captured in the match form, so entrepreneurs are paired with VAs whose background and skills best fit their needs.
How much will entrepreneurs pay me?
You can typically earn:
- $25/hour if you have 1–3 years of experience
- $40/hour if you have 3–5 years of experience
- $60/hour if you have 5+ years of experience
Can I work with more than one entrepreneur at a time?
Yes. Many VAs manage multiple clients. Just be sure your availability and commitments stay clear and realistic.
Do I pay to be listed on myVAmatch.com?
Yes. There’s a $25 monthly subscription to stay listed and visible to entrepreneurs. There are no hidden fees, no contracts, and you can cancel any time.
How long does the match form and assessment take?
The process is a one-time investment of less than an hour: about 20 minutes for the VA Match Form, and about 20 minutes for the multiple-choice skills and personality assessment. Once approved, you stay visible to entrepreneurs who are actively hiring. There’s no reapplying or extra work — just one setup for ongoing connections.
How long does it take to get my first match?
It varies. Some VAs are matched quickly, while others take longer. It depends on entrepreneur demand, your availability, and how well your profile lines up with their needs.
Do I have to work full-time?
We have both full-time and part-time opportunities. Entrepreneurs select the weekly hours they need (5–40), and you’ll only see matches that align with your availability.
Do I have to work evenings or weekends?
Only if you’ve set your availability that way in your match form. Entrepreneurs are matched with VAs based on overlapping availability, and most are looking for weekday support during normal business hours.
Do I need to work in the same time zone as my client?
Not exactly. You don’t have to live in the same time zone, but some overlap in working hours is expected. Be clear on your profile about when you’re available.
How fast do I need to respond to clients?
You don’t have to guess — response time is built into the entrepreneur’s match form. Some entrepreneurs want a reply right away, some within a couple of hours, and some are fine with next business day. As a best practice, aim to respond within 24 hours.
What if my availability changes?
Easy — just update your profile. Keeping your availability and years of experience current helps ensure you get the right matches.
What equipment do I need?
All myVAmatch VAs are expected to have the basics already in place: a reliable computer, high-speed internet, and a smartphone for quick communication. Most entrepreneurs also assume you’ll be comfortable with tools like email, Zoom, Google Drive, and project management apps.
Will I definitely get matched?
While matches aren’t guaranteed, many VAs are regularly connected with entrepreneurs through myVAmatch. Keeping your profile, availability, and experience updated increases your chances.
Can I upgrade my VA level later?
Yes — once you gain more experience, you can apply to move up to the next tier for higher rates and access to different clients.
Do I have to interview with entrepreneurs?
Entrepreneurs use myVAmatch because they don’t have time to run multiple interviews. They receive their top 3 VA matches instantly, and if they contact you, it means you’re the VA they chose. Some entrepreneurs may choose to have a quick introductory call before moving forward, but not always.
How do payments work?
You get paid directly by the entrepreneur. You set your own payment terms, invoice them directly, and keep 100% of what you earn. myVAmatch does not take a percentage.
Do I need to sign a contract?
Contracts are between you and the entrepreneur. myVAmatch doesn’t employ VAs — we connect you with clients so you can set your own agreements. There are no contracts with myVAmatch, and you can cancel your subscription at any time.
Am I an employee of myVAmatch?
No. All VAs on the platform are independent 1099 contractors. myVAmatch connects you with entrepreneurs, but you run your own business, set your own terms, and handle your own taxes.
Do I have to work with every entrepreneur who contacts me?
Matches are designed to be a strong fit since both you and the entrepreneur complete the match form before being connected. That said, if you’re contacted and decide the opportunity isn’t right for you, you’re under no obligation to accept the role.
How does myVAmatch bring in new entrepreneurs?
We run ongoing marketing, partnerships, and outreach to keep entrepreneurs steadily joining the platform — creating fresh opportunities for VAs on a regular basis.
